Walka O Styl. Poszukiwania Form Narodowych W Architekturze Krajów Jugosłowiańskich W I Połowie Xx Wieku Struggling for the Style. Searching for National Forms in Architecture of Yugoslav Countries in the First Half of the 20th Century

Before the war in Serbia there developed a tendency based on Byzantine inspirations; whereas in the interwar period it was monumentalism that grew in popularity. What grabs attention in Slovene architecture was looking for the national form, however very much different from the Serbian one. Finally, in Croatia, searching for national identity was left in favour of modernity. The clash between the nations of the Yugoslav state stopped the attempts to create a common united form of architecture.
